SECTION 1: NO CERTIFICATION – CERTIFICATE OF COMPLETION ONLY
1.1 This is not a certification program.
The Course provides general educational information only. It does not lead to any professional certification, licence, designation, or credential recognized by any regulatory body, college, or government authority in Canada or elsewhere.
1.2 The Certificate of Completion is not a credential.
Upon completing the Course, you will receive a Certificate of Completion. This certificate:
· Confirms only that you have viewed the Course materials
· Does not certify you as a "Hospital Navigator," "Patient Navigator," or any other professional title
· Does not authorize you to practice medicine, nursing, law, social work, or any regulated health profession
· Does not qualify you to provide medical advice, legal advice, or clinical care
1.3 You may not misrepresent your status.
You agree that you will not:
· Represent yourself as a "certified" Hospital Navigator
· Use the Certificate of Completion to imply any professional credential
· Hold yourself out as a substitute for medical, legal, or nursing professionals

SECTION 2: DISCLAIMER OF LIABILITY – READ CAREFULLY
2.1 No professional relationship.
Your purchase and use of the Course does not create any physician-patient, lawyer-client, nurse-patient, or other professional relationship between you and Veritas Patient Academy, its owners, instructors, employees, contractors, or affiliates (collectively, "Veritas").
2.2 Course content is educational only.
All Course materials, including but not limited to videos, written text, checklists, sample scripts, logs, and downloadable resources, are provided solely for general educational and informational purposes. They are not:
· Medical advice
· Legal advice
· Psychological or psychiatric advice
· A substitute for professional judgment
· A replacement for consultation with qualified physicians, nurses, lawyers, or other appropriate professionals
2.3 No guarantee of outcomes.
Veritas makes no representation or warranty, express or implied, regarding any specific outcome from using the Course. Specifically, Veritas does not guarantee that:
· A patient's care will improve
· Harm, error, or adverse events will be prevented
· Hospital staff will respond to your requests or concerns
· Any complaint, escalation, or advocacy effort will succeed
2.4 Your actions are your own responsibility.
You acknowledge that:
· You are solely responsible for how you apply any information from the Course
· Any actions you take in a hospital, clinical, or care setting are your own voluntary decisions
· Veritas has no control over hospital policies, staff conduct, medical decisions, or patient outcomes
2.5 Complete release of liability.
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW IN CANADA:
YOU AGREE THAT VERITAS PATIENT ACADEMY, ITS AFFILIATES, DIRECTORS, OFFICERS, INSTRUCTORS, EMPLOYEES, CONTRACTORS, AND AGENTS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY DIRECT, INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, LOSSES, COSTS, OR INJURIES (INCLUDING PERSONAL INJURY, DEATH, OR HARM TO A PATIENT) ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO:
· Your use of or inability to use the Course
· Your actions or inactions in any hospital, clinical, or care setting
· Any advice, information, or guidance you provide to a patient or family member
· Any communication you have with healthcare providers, hospital staff, or administrators
· Any complaint, escalation, or advocacy effort you undertake
· Any medical outcome, including but not limited to delayed diagnosis, missed diagnosis, medication errors, infections, pressure injuries, sepsis, discharge complications, transfer complications, or death
THIS RELEASE APPLIES WHETHER THE CLAIM IS BASED ON BREACH OF CONTRACT, TORT (INCLUDING NEGLIGENCE), OR ANY OTHER LEGAL THEORY.
2.6 Indemnification.
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Veritas Patient Academy and its affiliates, directors, officers, instructors, employees, contractors, and agents from and against any and all claims, demands, lawsuits, damages, losses, costs, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or related to:
· Your use of the Course
· Your actions or inactions in any healthcare setting
· Any misrepresentation you make regarding your status, credentials, or role
· Any violation of these Terms by you

SECTION 3: ACKNOWLEDGEMENT OF RISKS
3.1 Hospitals are high-risk environments.
You acknowledge that hospitals, clinics, and other healthcare settings involve inherent risks, including but not limited to medical errors, delayed care, infections, adverse events, and poor outcomes. No educational course can eliminate these risks.
3.2 No guarantee of safety.
Veritas does not promise or guarantee that your family member or friend will receive safer care as a result of this Course. The tools and information provided are intended to help you be more informed, but outcomes depend on countless factors outside Veritas's control.
3.3 Emotional and psychological risks.
You acknowledge that advocating for a patient in a hospital setting can be stressful, emotionally difficult, and psychologically demanding. Veritas is not responsible for any emotional distress, anxiety, or psychological harm you may experience.

SECTION 4: NO LEGAL OR MEDICAL ADVICE
4.1 Consult qualified professionals.
The Course is not a substitute for:
· Consulting a physician for medical advice
· Consulting a lawyer for legal advice
· Consulting a patient relations office or ombudsman for complaints
· Consulting a qualified mental health professional for psychiatric concerns
4.2 Provincial laws vary.
While the Course provides general information applicable across Canada, healthcare laws, patient rights, and complaint processes vary by province and territory. You are responsible for verifying the specific rules and resources applicable in your jurisdiction.

SECTION 5: INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY
5.1 The Course is owned by Veritas Patient Academy.
All Course materials, including videos, scripts, checklists, graphics, logos, and written content, are the exclusive property of Veritas Patient Academy and are protected by Canadian copyright law.
5.2 You may not share, resell, or reproduce the Course.
You agree that you will not:
· Share your login credentials with any other person
· Download, copy, record, or redistribute Course videos or materials
· Resell, sublicense, or commercially exploit the Course in any way
· Use the Course to train others without express written permission from Veritas

SECTION 6: NO REFUNDS
6.1 All sales are final.
Due to the digital, immediately accessible nature of the Course, all purchases are final and non-refundable. By completing your purchase, you waive any right to a refund, chargeback, or dispute with your credit card company or payment processor.
6.2 Technical issues.
If you experience a technical issue preventing access, you must contact Veritas support within 14 days of purchase. Veritas will make reasonable efforts to resolve the issue but is not obligated to provide a refund.

SECTION 7: GOVERNING LAW
7.1 Ontario law applies.
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein, without regard to conflict of law principles.
7.2 Venue.
Any legal action arising out of or related to these Terms or the Course shall be brought exclusively in the courts of the Province of Ontario, located in the City of Toronto.

SECTION 8: SEVERABILITY
If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid by a court of competent jurisdiction, that provision shall be severed, and the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.

Veritas Patient Academy reserves the right to update or modify these Terms at any time without prior notice. The version in effect at the time of your purchase applies to you.

SECTION 10: ELECTRONIC ACKNOWLEDGEMENT

3. I understand that I will receive a Certificate of Completion, but this is NOT a certification or professional credential.
4. I understand that I am NOT being certified as a Hospital Navigator or any other professional.
5. I release Veritas Patient Academy and its affiliates from any and all liability arising from my use of the Course or my actions in any healthcare setting.
6. I assume full responsibility for my own actions and for any outcomes related to a patient I support.
7. I agree to indemnify Veritas Patient Academy against any claims arising from my conduct.
8. I acknowledge that all sales are final and non-refundable.
